Darnell Powell Smith

    Darnell Powell Smith, 69, of Millboro, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at his residence.
He was born December 9, 1949, in Millboro, Virginia, the son of the late Robert Hongrover Smith and Alvah Gretta Robertson Smith.
Mr. Smith was a retired electrician and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of National Rifle Association; an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting; and was a big NASCAR fan and sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Therese “Terry” Ann Smith of Boonsboro, Maryland; two daughters, Melissa Anne Smith of Chesterfield, Virginia and Tammie Sue Smith of Boonsboro; a granddaughter, Keiara Taylor of Chesterfield; a brother, Orlando Smith & wife Barbara of Millboro; two sisters, Reba Thurston and Wanda Smith both of Glen Allen, Virginia and a brother-in-law, Dick Fraley of Emporia, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Smith & Bernell “Buzzie” Smith; and a sister, Edith Maxine Fraley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Millboro Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Smith Family Cemetery in Millboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Millboro Fire Department.
